La clemenza di Tito as True Crime

In celebration of my blog, Opera, innit? having been around and kicking for 5 fine years, I thought I'd do something fun - at least for me! - and return to an old love = the (Tito) podcast.

Things get into high gear in La clemenza di Tito because of an attempted murder/arson. Nobody dies in the end (that's quite some feat, given the arson) but we've got one or two crimes to deal with. Apparently it's got some foundation in historical fact, if we're to believe Suetonius (though historians back then were not above mixing fact with urban legends, rumours and/or bending the truth to suit their own political needs). So, true crime-ish.
